LADAKH Why with HTC Only? : 

  1. Acclimatization–
    The major cause of altitude illnesses is going too high too fast. Given time, your body can adapt to the decrease in oxygen molecules at a specific altitude. This process is known as acclimatization and generally takes time. 
    For example, if you at 6,000 feet (MANALI), and spend A day at that altitude, your body acclimatizes to 6000ft. If you ride directly to 14,300 feet(SARCHU), your body has to acclimatize once again for that 8000 ft altitude gain in just one day which is very very tough..it leads to severe altitude sickness as you gained 8000 feet in one day… 
    How HTC sorted this to add superior Safety ?
    HTC carefully added one more day to counter this as our first priority is safety. instead of directly going to SARCHU (14,300ft) from MANALI (6000ft) in ONE DAY , we are going to stop at JISPA (10000 ft) on First day of Ride and the Next day we will proceed to SARCHU (14300 ft)…
    in this plan your body will be properly acclimatized for the height you gain.

ITINERARY

DAY 0DELHI -MANALI (Overnight Journey)

  • Arrive In Delhi(Explore the city if time permits).
  • Later in evening, around 6 pm, meet your fellow travelers at pickup point, overnight journey by Volvo bus.
  • Reach Manali by morning, wake up in snow clad mountains with a new day(For those who opted DELHI-MANALI we will take care about booking).

ALTITUDE:- Delhi(709 ft) to Manali(6730 ft)
DISTANCE TRAVELLED :- 537 km
HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY:- Overnight Bus Journey to Manali.

DAY 1MANALI LOCAL SIGHTSEEING (Leisure day)

  • This adventurous trip starts with your arrival in Manali, check-in to the hotel, make yourself comfortable to relax till afternoon.
  • Post lunch head for local sightseeing.
  • We have organized a tour briefing session about the details of the activities, route, challenges, Do’s and Don’ts and other useful information related to our journey.
  • Dinner time!

ALTITUDE :-  Manali (6730ft).
STAY :- In Manali(Hotel/Dorm Stay).
PLACES TO COVER IN MANALI :- Hidimba temple, Vashista temple, Mall road.

DAY 2MANALI - KEYLONG - JISPA

  • Day starts early morning post breakfast for Jispa.
  • Here comes the most important part, introduction to your main partner on this tour, your motorbike. Check your vehicle Condition and discuss with your Team Captain for any issues.
  • We start our ride to Jispa via Atal Tunnel, at a length of 9.02 km ,it is the longest highway single-tube tunnel above 10,000 ft.
  • We also pass through Keylong town ,where Keylong lies on the bank of Bhaga River where Chandra Valley, Bhaga Valley and Chenab Valley intersect. Valley, river, mountains and green landscape makes Keylong picturesque destination.
  • After Keylong we start our ride to Jispa ,where Jispa a beautiful little town in the Lahaul district of Himachal Pradesh, is a stunning must-visit. Perched on the banks of river Bhaga.
  • Overnight stay in campsite/homestay followed by dinner.

TIME :- 3 Hours.
DISTANCE : – 93kms.
ALTITUDE :- Manali (6730 ft) to Jispa(10,500 ft).
STAY :- At Jispa( Camp stay/ Home stay).
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY :- Bike Ride along the Bhaga River. Crossing Atal Tunnel.

DAY 3 JISPA - BARALACHA LA - SARCHU

  • After the Breakfast, we will ride towards Sarchu.
  • Jispa lies 2 hours from Baralacha-la , which is at an altitude of 15,912 ft and provides the most stunning views of surrounding mountains.
  • Next up is dreamy Deepak Tal & Suraj Tal, small lakes on the top of Baralacha La. Drive and enjoy the mesmerizing views.
  • Reach Sarchu, check in the camps/homestay and enjoy the night under the night sky full of stars, Milky way view can be seen, for the lucky few. And dinner will be served.

TIME : – 2-3 hrs
DISTANCE : – 85kms
STAY :- Sarchu (Camp Stay)
ALTITUDE :- Jispa (10,500 ft) to Sarchu (14,070 ft).
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY :- Ride through Baralacha La , Deepak Tal & Suraj Tal, Night Stay Under Stars.

DAY 4SARCHU - GATA LOOPS - LACHUNG LA - TANGLANG LA - LEH

  • Wake up and have breakfast at the campstay.
  • Today will be the most challenging day until we reach Leh.
  • En Route Cross the Gata Loops which is famous for its 21 Hair Pin Bends, Nakee La , which is located at an altitude of 15,647 ft and then Lachung La , this is one of the highest passes at 16,600 ft , we will cross in our journey.
  • Reach Pang (an Army base at 14,760m) by afternoon and have lunch at Pang.
  • Ride through the beautiful Moore Plains and after crossing Tanglang La (at 17,480 ft), this is one of the 3 passes above 17,000 ft , we will be travelling in our journey.
  • Continue your journey through Upshi, Karu and finally Leh. Check in to the hotel and have dinner.

TIME : – 10-11 hrs
DISTANCE : – 250kms
ALTITUDE :-  Sarchu (14,070 ft) to Leh(11,562 ft).
STAY :-  At Leh ( Sharing Room Basis)
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY :- Drive through Lachung La , Tanglang La.

DAY 5LEH(Leisure day)

  • Wakeup leisurely in the morning and have breakfast. It is an acclimatization day.
  • After breakfast, go for local sightseeing in Leh.
  • In the evening come back to stay followed by dinner and sleep.

ALTITUDE :- Leh(11,562ft).
STAY :- Leh (Sharing Room Basis)
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY :- Visit Thiksay Monastery , Leh Palace , Shanti Stupa.

DAY 6LEH to NUBRA VALLEY via KHARDUNGLA

  • Wake up and have breakfast at the hotel and then check out.
  • Head for the beautiful Nubra Valley through Khardungla (Highest motor-able road at  17,582 ft.). Amidst the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of Himalayas , the view is breathtaking .
  • Check in to the hotel and visit the Sand dunes(cold desert of India), take a camel safari , a double humped camel , one of its kind in the world. This is at personal expense.
  • Head back in to hotel by evening, have dinner and sleep.

TIME : – 5-6 hrs
DISTANCE : – 160kms.
ALTITUDE :-  Leh (11,562 ft.) to Nubra Valley (10,000 ft.).
STAY :- at Nubra Valley (Camp Stay).
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY :- Ride through Khardung La, Camel Ride & ATV Ride

DAY 7NUBRA VALLEY to PANGONG via AGHAM and SHYOK VILLAGES

  • Today After breakfast we start for Pangong Lake. The Ride will be alongside the river Shyok. On the way to Pangong we will visit Diskit gompa which is a Hilltop monastery with picturesque view of mountains & valley, plus a large, colorful Buddha statue.
  • The total distance on this road between Nubra and Pangong Tso is approximately 200 km and the total travel time is about 7 hours.
  • We will be passing through Khalsar – Agam -Shyok – Durbok – Tangtse(Our Stay) before reaching Pangong Lake. Pangong lake is situated at 13,862 ft.
  • Evening start back to Tangtse (35 kms) , check in and have a sound sleep.

STAY – TANGTSE (Overnight in Home stay).
TIME : – 6-7 hrs
DISTANCE : –  185kms
ALTITUDE :- Nubra Valley (10,000 ft.) to Tangtse (12,933 ft).
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY :-  Sunset View of Pangong lake.

DAY 8PANGONG LAKE to LEH via CHANG LA

  • With Heavy heart we begin our final day ride.
  • Post breakfast, head back towards the final destination to  Leh via Chang La(second highest motorable road 17,688 ft.).
  • Reach Leh by evening. In the evening we will provide you the stay(This is on us), followed by dinner.

TIME : – 6-7hrs
DISTANCE : – 220kms
ALTITUDE :- Tangtse (12,933 ft.) to Leh (11,500 ft).
STAY :- at Leh (Sharing Room Basis).
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY :- Drive through Chang La.

DAY 9TADAAA | BYE BYE

● Hyderabad Trekking Club has a right to cancel the participant slot.
● Please do not cause delay and cause inconvenience for others and impact the schedule.
● Below 18 must take the consent of the parents to participate.
● Participants will be notified prior to when the itinerary is modified/ event get canceled due to any unforeseen circumstances.
● If there is an unexpected change in weather during the event, the organizer has the right to withdraw/ retreat.
● Participants should coordinate, disciplined and align together as a team during the event.
● Please do not expect luxury facilities and appreciate being cooperative with fellow Participants
● Though we assure safety as a top priority, Event Organizers are not responsible for any severe injuries or fatal events.
● No refund will be provided if the participant doesn’t show up on the day of the event.

Maximum age: There is no maximum age limit. You need to be reasonably fit to participate.
